Kids Art Club Registration

Registration August 25th– September 8th

The North East Arts Council is excited to announce that registration for this year’s Kids’ Art Club is OPEN. Kids’ Art Club meets monthly, for one hour, from September through May. Children will explore art methods, techniques, and create finished projects.Sign-ups can be completed by downloading and filling out the Registration Form and submitting it to Jody at NEACprogram@outlook.com. (If you have trouble on your smartphone, download and fill out the form on a laptop or PC instead).

North East, PA 16428The club is divided into 2 sections by grade, both meeting on the 2nd Monday of each month:
1st through 4th grade will meet from 4:30p.m. to 5:30p.m. and will be taught by local artist, Daryl Kidder. These classes will be art appropriate for the younger children and will focus on famous artist techniques and activities related to those techniques. Class limit: 15
5th through 12th grade will meet from 6 p.m. to 7p.m. The 5th through 12th grade class will be taught again by Noelle Stephenson, and will focus on art techniques which will include sculpture, acrylic painting, watercolor, and mixed media. Class limit: 20
Registrants will be accepted on a first-come/first-served basis. Kids’ Art Club is free to participate, however, we ask that students who sign up honor their commitment to make the club by making attendance a priority.

Leaf Block Printing Workshop

In this energetic, hands-on workshop, you will learn to use basic block printing techniques to make artful prints on fabric items to keep. We will learn about fabric ink, printing tools, and color layering. Wear print friendly clothes! We will print from actual leaves on a 100% cotton flour sack towel and a canvas tote bag. Participants may also print on a cotton apron for an extra $4. They all make great gifts. Learn simple block printing techniques to create two towels, a bag, or an apron.

This is an adult class limited to 8 participants. Light snacks will be provided. BYOB

Cost: $23 for NEAC members, $28 non-members
All materials supplied. Upcharge for additional materials if desired.
