Leather Journal Making Workshop

The North East Arts Council welcomes you to a special Saturday workshop with artist Toni Kelly. In this class students will be creating a small 2 1/2 x 3 inch leather bound journal. This handmade journal is small enough to carry in your pocket or purse yet large enough to be used for journaling or sketching. The books will contain 6 hand-sewn signatures made from quality drawing paper and a soft leather cover. The leather can be tooled and hand painted. Students will learn how to sew signatures, gluing techniques, and will become familiar with book binding language and simple tools of use.  Beat the winter blues by exploring your creativity!
