Look for a listing of our new Winter/Spring Class Schedule in your In Box soon after the new year.  New classes begin in early February.

NEAC received a grant from ArtsErie for digital photography workshops to be held in 2012. This grant will extend the reach of the new Photography Interest Group developed in conjunction with the North East Chamber. It meets on the second Tuesday of each month (next meeting January 12 at 7 p.m. at the Cultural Center). Stay tuned for details on how you can participate in the workshops and the public show that will complete this well received new activity.

It’s the time of year to be thankful for your blessings and NEAC is no exception:

Our Member Art Show featuring Laura Mikula, Peggy Campbell and Eric Schwartz at Courtyard Winery brought out over 80 members and guests for camaraderie and Christmas shopping.  Special thanks to

Christine French, Laura and Randy Graham and Sue Rochester for a fun and festive evening.

Speaking of combining the art of winemaking with the visual arts, the third annual Wine & Art Weekend is scheduled for 2012 for Saturday, April 14. Plan to attend this popular springtime show and winery tour. Send an email to neartscouncil@yahoo.com if you are interested in participating as an artist and showing your work at one of our participating regional wineries.

A HUGE Thank you to the North East News Journal as well as the people of North East for their generosity in making NEAC one of the lucky nonprofit recipients from the 2011 Beautiful Baby Contest. The Kid’s Art Club will benefit and we’re grateful to be chosen this year. We hope each one of the beautiful babies grows up to be an artist in their own unique way.

Special Thanks to the Grape Queen and Court for assistance with the arts and crafts sponsored by NEAC on Sugar Plum Sunday.
